I bought a used '94 F150 that is missing the jack and lug wrench. I visited a couple of salvage yards thinking it wouldn't be a problem to pick them up cheap that way.
However, out of about 10 trucks, NONE of the jacks were there. I started wondering if there was some good reason that people weren't leaving them in their little bracket under the hood.
Is there some problem with the jack that I should know about before I spend any more time looking for one?
The problem is that people forget to put them back where they go in the truck and they get lost. Happened to me once with the handle, and almost again. If you have to change a tire on the roadside and lay the handle down, it's easy to forget, especially if you are having to dodge hi speed traffic.

If your truck is 4 wheel drive spend the money and buy a Hi-Lift
jack. You will be money ahead when you need it. If no call JC
Whitney. They may carry replacement jacks. I threw the jack for my 86 4X4 in the trash.
