I am about to install mine but i'm curious about the "cold starts". Does that mean just start it up and start driving with no warmup time but still take it easy? They dont go into much detail with that. I just want to double check.

I understand that there is some "learning" involved but they said to do like 5 or 6 cold starts and i dont think that they meant that process from the above article or do they?

Yes a cold start is that...IMO, over night "cold"
Meaning like five days.....or four if you line in a real cold place...

Once a day, that sucks! I'm driving about 100 miles a day to work, so i'm guessing it would not be a good idea to drive it to work while i'm doing the cold starts?

It's not as bad as all that - really....
i've switched tunes and gone right out and drove it...
And I USUALLY don't jump to full WOT starts when cold so it shifts a LITTLE firm until it figures out what my new driving style is (this week )... (the 5,000 foot view explanation)

Some have switched tunes between dragstrip runs... but I've not...

Be sure to update your predator with the correct latest version from here:
www.diablosport.com

and if you'd like, do the tranny relearn thing (although I've never in two years of owning the predator)
maybe I should try it ......

well, u r right !
u do need to know where you're starting to know how to get where you are going

but if your's is a newer one, would guess it's the r76 version u need from here : http://www.diablosport.com/Downloads.php

I just downloaded the new R35 so I can remove that pesky speed limiter on the 100+ hp tune

Alright, well i installed it and it seemed to go alright but i have to say, i didn't really notice much of a difference in shifting. I do have a question though, during the install, there are multiple times when you have to "turn the ignition on", "turn the ignition off" or "turn the ignition on but do not start the engine". For the "turn the ignition on" i just turned the key but did not start the engine. Was i supposed to start the engine? At the end it did say the 65hp tune was installed and i didn't get any error messages but i just wanted to check. I was taking it very easy so i couldn't smash the pedal and see the difference

u need to turn it such that it is ON, but not started...
(your door warning dinger should come on)...
and no never start it until after completed...

It has to do a few things each time you load a tune..
the first time it is saving your vin so it marries it to YOUR truck
it also backs up the stock tune to the predator,
then it loads the new tune from the predator to the engine control computer and the a second "tune" to the tranny control tuner...
then it has to reset the PAT (Passive Anti Theft) system with a few of the last on and off cycles....

so yes, there's a bunch of them

you don't have to be TOO gentle with it, let it warm up and then you should notice at about anything more than grandpa level acceleration that it responds a LOT betta !!!
