'98 Ranger Dome Light Problem
Recently I've been having a problem with the dome light staying on after the doors are closed in my '98 Ranger and also the door ajar dash light will stay on even when the doors are fully closed. Typically the dome light goes out after around 5 minutes. When it first started happening I thought it was a faulty dome light switch but there don't seem to be any in the door thresholds. I'm thinking there must be some kind of relay in the dash but I don't know where to look or what I'm looking for. Any help with this would be appreciated.

If you check under this forum the second thread about Technical info. Will explain that this is a common problem.
The switch in the the door latch. Spray in some WD-40 into both door latches, will fix the problem.

I've had to do that with my '96 twice now. I actually had the dealer replace them and had them start doing this within 6 months of replacement. The first time I sprayed them it took over a year for it to happen again. Plus it's a whole lot cheaper...
