361- 390 swap

Question 361- 390 swap

Ok guys, will somebody tell me the if a 390 will bolt in place of a 361 in a 76 F600 5 sd. I know it's not an hd motor but can it be done.

as far as I know, the only variable, is the motor mounts on the actual block, all of the HD motors have 4 mount holes in the block, and the car blocks had 3, and the real early 352 had only two.

I happen to have a 390 that has installed a 391 front timing cover and 391 bellhousing mounts. it is a 67 390 9.5 to 1 It has been rebuilt by me a couple of years ago. It is setting in a old 2 1/2 ton mil truck. I had to machine a small sleeve for the front timing cover as the snout of the harmonic dampner is a different size. I had the 13 inch flywhhel rebalenced to 0 for the 390 new flywheel gear. cam is a crane cam the cam card is at the bottom of this reply. and it has a street 4bbl intake.
