77 flareside with Explorer package

77 flareside with Explorer package
A few years ago I had the opportunity to buy a 77 F100 shortbed flareside with the Explorer package. It was tan with brown Explorer stripes. I didn't buy it because it needed alot of body work. I've never seen another flareside Explorer. How rare were they? Has anybody else ever seen one?

did it have a hood ornament? if so it was a Explorer. I haven't seen many Explorers around. I've got the only 4x4 Explorer i've seen from Sacramento to the Oregon border. I've never seen a flareside explorer though. maybe mark a. i right, could have been a Free-Wheeling Package truck. although i thought those were 4x4.

It definetly was NOT a Free-Wheelin' truck. It did have the Explorer hood ornament. The truck was tan with brown Explorer stripes. The stripes on the flareside bed outlined the lower part of the fender. The stripes on the cab were the same as those found on a 77 styleside Explorer.

That would have to be a very rare truck. I have a fleetside explorer and it's the only one I see around me. Heck, I've only seen one flareside around here. Boy, I'd sure like to have one or two. The Explorer is just a trim package ,right?
