Ok,this is one of those questions like Mike W used to ask,so I as this as a tribute to him.Ok,so its corny, get over it!
I was just sitting here thinking about an old friend who past away a couple of years ago,and no he didnt freeze to death,he drank booze like it was water and his insides just quite working. But anyway,he did heavy equiptment repair, and was always outside during the coldest months of the winter. So,he was pretty much at home in cold weather. We would go for a ride somewhere, with him driving, and sure enough,he would have his window down. And I mean all the way down with his arm hanging out,and no coat on!I think I must have told him a hundred times, roll up that window!Or at least turn the heat on!He would roll the window up,but getting him to turn on the heater was like pulling teeth! So,it got me thinking,I wonder how many other guys drive around in the winter with their window down. And you guys in Florida,Hawaii,Texas,California or anywhere else that thinks 60deg is cold, dont count!
If I can see my breath...it's cold. 50 degrees with a swift wind from the north is cold too.
You won't catch me with the windows down if its below 70 degrees. I'm old....my blood is thinning out.
I know a couple of guys that are the same way as your friend, KT. They rarely wear coats in the winter. One lives in NH and the other in CO. Not me. Anything under 60, and my coat comes on.
I WOULD NEVER WEAR A COAT! I ALWAYS HAVE THE WINDOW DOWN when snow plowing and I shovel my accounts without a coat on. The customers think I am crazy.
They always ask where my coat is! I just cant stand being bundled up like that.
Plus while working I would sweat too much and cause other problems.
Throw those coats away - LIVE FREE & get some fresh air.
Well since I am outside about 10 hours a day I am used to it... I rarely have a coat on and always have the window open..not always completely open but at least halfway all the time... Born and raise in Iowa I am used to everything from -40 to 100 above...climatised I guess
I love the cold, but that is at least partially because I didn't have air conditioning at home, work or in a vehicle until about 5 years ago. I'm not nearly as fond of the cold now that I've got AC everywhere. I still don't go much of anywhere without at least one window open. It's usually the back window because it doesn't beat you to death with wind.
In my old Monte Carlo I used to, only because I was used to 4/60 air conditioning in the summer, and all of the time it smelled like gas/oil/exhaust, so I would do it in the winter too. The headers and some poor insulation managed to warm her up nicely though. Now, in my *cough* Nissan Altima I have the sunroof cracked all of the time. I'm a fresh air guy too.
North Carolina, it's 52 degrees out today, If I wasn't sick today, I woulda just rolled with the windows down, but bc I was dumb enough to forget about closing my window last night when it dipped down below 30, but yeah. Usually, the window is down at about 45 with a little heat pumping from the vent, on low of course, and in the 50's, no heater needed, it feels great. I love between 50-60, I guess that came from playing football in this weather, best football weather ever
I went to school with a kid that could not feel cold. I remember many times, when the temperatures were WELL below freezing, and he'd be walking along with us, wearing nothing but jeans and a t-shirt. It just didn't affect him. He did have to be careful as to how long he could do this, as he could get frostbite. Even then, he'd just put on a long-sleeve shirt. Weird....
Ya know, now that you mention it,I knew a kid in school that always slept with his bedroom window open.I remember his mom yelling at him one afternoon after school that he had left his bedroom door open, and the whole house was freezing!Needless to say,we both hightailed it over to my house before she could get her hands on him!
I almost always drive with it up on the highway. But in town, if it is warmer than about 30 degrees and colder than about 80, it is down. 50 degrees in the winter and you get people around here in tee shirts and shorts. As for a jacket, I usually only wear a light one, if any. That is why they have climate control in trucks.
