In some states if you lose a civil suit you have to pay the court costs for the other party. I wonder if that was the case here? That would be nice if it was.
They weren't required to pay, but I could sue them for the costs and for malicious prosecution, but they have no money to pay any judgement and aren't likely to have any in the future so while there would be some satisfaction on my part, it would just be more time and money wasted.
If I could go after their lawyer, well it would be a different story because I actually hold the lawyers to be more responsible for bringing this to court than the plaintiffs - scum that they are.
Unfortunately in some states that can get you sued and arrested as well due to the existance of good samaritan laws... I believe AZ is one such state.
I have a good friend who is a trained EMT/Firefighter in Wisconsin. He was off duty and stopped to help at a bad wreck before the "onduty" EMT's got there. He was eventually sued because he saved an old man's life who WANTED to die. He also was eventually cleared in court, but sheesh.........LAWYERS and USED CAR SALESMEN
Glad you were cleared. It is a sad state of affairs when you get sued for helping save someones life and they claim injury. But to be sued becasue some jackass can not maintain control is obsurd. Makes you want to just keep driving so you can not be placed at a sceen.
