Hey guys, I've had a Toshiba laptop since last August. It was fine until about a month ago when it started freezing, getting more frequent as time went by. Then, last week the screen would go blank but no screen saver, and I could not "awake" it. So I reformatted the hard drive last night, but if froze up on me twice since then, the blank screen thing happened again, and this morning when I turned it on it said something happened that prevented it from opening normally. When I chose for it to continue, it loaded up, "Windows starting", and right before the desktop showed up the screen went to a pink, black, and white striped screen. I was running Spybot, adaware, and Norton antivirus beforehand, which didn't find anything. Are there any viruses that couldh've stayed in the HD after reformatting?
Have had my Kodak camera software hooked to it since day one, got a 7 port USB drive and numeric pad a few month ago, using wireless card that came with it, nothing new really. Bought extended warranty from CompUSA, guess I'll be using it. I jsut hate not having the computer for very long. Thanks for the help.
I would also disable the Hibernate function. In laptops this can cause so of the issues. I would go to toshiba's website and look for updated drivers for your hardware.
