C-6 Speedo Gear
I picked up a 390 and C-6 from a guy that pulled them from a truck he had scrapped. Didn't get the year of the truck 197?
I am trying to find out what year C-6 I have so that I cold get the correct speedo gear assembly/speedo cable for the truck.
The tranny calls for a speedo gear-cable unit (one piece unit)that slides into the housing and is heald on with a retainer screw instead of having the gear assembly threaded onto the housing and having the cable threaded into the assembly.
The tranny has a flanged yolk for the 2 piece drive shaft instead of slip yolk.
The tranny that was in the truck when I got the truck was a 4 wheel drive tranny that was originally set up to drive a divorced transfer case and the tail housing was never set up for a speedo gear
