Failed emissions test...gotta get codes
Over the limit on the HC and NOx portions. It's a 5.8 but they listed it as a 5.0, do you think this would have any impact on the limits the computer gives for the test? Going back to the station tomorrow to ask those guys.
Also, I haven't been able to get the codes because I can't find the little wire on the front left wheel well. The truck is an '88 F250 4x4 5.8, did they hide this wire anywhere else? What color is it? What kind of connector is on it? I really don't want to ground the wrong wire and fry the engine computer or anything else.

I'm not sure about where ou live, but here in NC, I think the exhaust numbers are the same for all vehicles of a certain weight class regardless of the engine. If you go to http://fordfuelinjection.com , you can find a picture of the self test plug and instructions for how to pull the codes.
