I'm shooting for ideas, fellas. I don't know where to begin.

I would like for those of us who can to get together, meet, and have some fun. As far as I'm concerned, I'm not really interested in any official business taking place at this meeting... I just want us all to get together and meet!

Those of you who are interested, please say so. Also, any ideas for a place to meet is an excellent idea.

My idea involves a nice steak dinner with some excellent converstation afterwards. Anyone up for that? Greywolf mentioned a very nice steakhouse in Atoka. But, for those of you in East Tennessee who would like to be a part of this meet, that's a bit far west for ya'll. I'm sure there are some nice places in the Nashville area. Still though, that might be a bit far for others of you.

I'm just looking for ideas at this moment. For those of you who are interested, let me know by replying to this thread and we'll go from there.

I kinda wonder what different kinds of food folks are interested in.

It looks like (from checking on restaraunt reviews) there is a huge variety of feed houses in the Memphis area, including some fine AUTHENTIC Mexican and Italian eateries.

Teresa's Italian Cafe is one, and there are quite a few Mexicano establishments that do the whole nine yards! I'd be happy to find a place to git an honest to God Sicilian pizza (trust me - they are the best).

Ideas can be floated here, we don't bog down in the mud!

One of the places I was stationed at had a rotating monthly deal where we all put in ideas on where we wanted to go to lunch (in our case dinner) each month, and everyone voted on it. Once we decided, the whole group got a discount for a group price and drinks were seperate.
Buffets were real popular with us.

We can do something like that....

If y'all would like, I can search around for group discounts at a few places, they love to have a lot of folk turn up at once, and go out of their way to make groups welcome. Its a SALES thang...
But its as good for us as it is for them!

Once again, that's my kinda talk.

Once we get some more input, we'll know more about what we need to look for. Doesn't seems like too many are interested...

I found this out personally on another board, you'll get a number of people that seem interested, yet never commit, and make setting a place and date near impossible, and when you bend your plans to include them, they don't bother to show. Not meaning to rain on your parade but if you have friends on here near you, set up a time that they can make, screw the rest, if they can come, make it open, but don't wait on them.
BTW, there is a huge meet going down at Stone Mountain next month, going to be guys from all over the country trying to make it, went over big last year, this was started year before last and has grown. I just thought I'd mention it, because this is the type of thing that many are interested in going, they'll miss a meet down the street from their house, but they'll drive over 100 miles to join in this.
