One of the two arms that raises the back window keeps popping out of the track, Actually it pops out of the plastic guide in the track. What is the fix for this? All advice would be appreciated.
i just bought a 79 bronco that had a very simmilar thing going on, waht i found out after through examination was that the joints were all junked up with years and years of junk, all i did was take the entire window assy and motor out cleaned it up and wd40'ed the hell out of it and it now workes much better, no slipedg
If the ball is popping out of the socket in the plastic "glide" that travels in the track at the base of the window, you may try cleaning and lubing as already recommended. However, many have found that once these two have separated once, they seldom remain a harmonious couple ever again...kinda like Hollywood marriages. Jeff's Bronco Graveyard sells the replacement component as one piece that threads into the lift arm on the regulator.
I agree with greystreak92. I had the same problem with my 96. Don't even thik about trying to fix your current guide. I went to ford and they sell a pack of two rollers that have a simple nut and bolt for the base and a new plastic roller guide. I think it was around $20 for a set of two. I drilled out my old one and screwed in the new one. All in all abour ten minutes. The part number from Ford is D6AZ-5323240-A. Grease the heck out of the tracks as long as you are elbow deep in your tailgate. It really made a differance.
Well I went down to the dealership and ordered the replacement parts. They will be here on Monday. Well I guess I'll have to install my new molded vinyl floormats and gey my single 3" exhaust installed this weekend. thanks for the help.
