Upgrading Alternator

Hello.... I have an Excursion with a 6.0 liter diesel. It has the stock 110 amp alternator. I replaced the batties recently and upgraded to two 850 CCA. Even with the better batteries I still seem to run them down while plowing with my aux lighting on. Has anyone upgraded from the single alternator to the dual alternator setup after they bought the truck? If not, is anyone running a higher output single alternator? Thanks!

I'm running the 200 amp 3g. I don't know if your 110 is a 3g or not. If you look in the front of it does it have rectangles with two circles in each or does it have squares with 4 holes in each?

As far as I can tell neither... I think the 99's are different than the newer PSD but please correct me if i'm wrong. I've been told by a couple of shops that in the new 6.0 the alternator is controlled by the ECU. I have one cable that runs off to the batteries and one cable that goes to the firewall... I guess that's the cable that talks to the computer. Any ideas?

Look here and give these guy's a call...I think its a 3g newer version maybe. Could be a 6g.

Correct me if i am wrong but didnt my 02 F350 come with a Single 160amp from the factory? Maybe i have had too much cough syrup?

nope 110 120 140 maybe 130 for gas engines
