swapping in rear end

Since the 8.8 rear end is gonna have to be replaced anyway, I thought that I might just "upgrade" it to a heaver duty one. The first thing that comes to everybodys mind is a 9", so just to make things difficult, I want to swap in a Stearling (spelling??) 10.25". Does anyone know if this will bolt up to the stock springs? I can understand that I'll have drive shaft problems, and that I have to make sure the gear ratio is the same as the one that came out...of course, this would be a good reason to drop down to a 4.10 gear...you know while I'm at it :7.....

P.S. Just off the top of your heads, can someone tell me what gear ratios came on these axles? If you don't know, don't go through all the hasle of looking it up. I can find out later...

I just thought of some more stumbling blocks...different bolt patterns, requires diff. sized rims, HHHMMMM...on second thought it may be better to just put the 9" in...

swapping in rear end

just to keep things simple stick with the 9". these rearends can be built to handle 7 sec 1/4 mile passes, that's well over 1000 hp. parts are easier to find and are a lot cheaper than the 10 1/4. as for gear ratios there are more than I have room to mention.
