I am considering installing a set of headers. A friend of mine said beware of some off-brands that don't fit exactly right and leak at the connections. I have looked at JBA, Gibson, and Hedman. What brand do you recommend? Why?
I don't care to have a loud sound--I'd rather keep it quiet, but I want to free up the intake and exhaust a little after the engine is broken in a little. Should I stick with the stock exhaust system after I install the headers? How loud is the K&N FIPK?
i have a 94 f150 with shorty headers. and i had a problem with them. when i first put them on i had a really bad leak at the connection. where the y pipe and the headers meet. so i bought an after market y pipe that they said would with these headers and the y pipe was the same size as the stock 1. so to solve this problem i had a machine shop turn me a new bell for the end of the header. the machine shop turned a bell the same size as the stock manafold. when i put it back to get i had a nice perfect fit no leeks at all....and all the companies u name i called to see what size the bell was on the end of the header and they where all the same size. so i hope this helps if u have any futher question just ask.
