Question Dome Light Wiring/Red Plug @ Dash?

**First Post** After messing around putting in a new stereo, I now have no power to my dome light. I've pulled the dash/instrument cluster and found a disconnected large, red, rectangular plug with 4 wires running into it. Problem is, I can't locate where this plug would connect and am not even sure if it was connected before I started pulling on stuff behind the dash. It's located just behind the "headlight/wiper" switches and wire length won't let it move too far from around there. I've traced from the dome light to where it connects up with the door switches but from there it gets into "the jumble" of wires above the fuse box. I'd like to think that the mysterious red plug would solve my problem but need to know where it goes/what it's for.

without looking at my truck or manuals that sounds like the door buzzer plug. For some reason I am thinking the wire coming from the dome light just a single wire plugin?

Right--the dome light has just the one wire that marries up with the wires from the door switches. So where, then, does that connect? Directly to the fuse box? I thought maybe the red plug might somehow play a factor in completing a circuit. If it is, in fact, the door buzzer, that would ease my worry that I pulled it lose--I haven't heard a door buzzer since I bought this truck 10 years ago. Out of curiosity, where is that supposed to plug in?

You are right. The wiring diagram in the ford manual shows a rectangular plug which goes to the seat belt warning buzzer which is white in color . The buzzer looks like a small speaker grill and is mounted on the left-hand kick panel behind and slightly above the headlight switch. The turn signal flasher is located directly above the seat belt buzzer.

I don't know if disconnecting the door light switch would cause the dome light to not light up, but it might be something to check. There is a connector for the door light behind the dash panel also.
