Chrome vs. polished wheels

Which are better chrome, polished wheels?? I am not a chrome guy...but neither do i want painted wheels. And dont mind alittle shine...just hate taking care of chrome. Is polished wheels easier to care for, or worse?

chromed aluminum wheels look good and are easy to keep clean. If chrome ever starts to come off, wheels are toast. Polished aluminum isn't as shinny and alot harder to keep clean (have to keep polishing them), but you don't have to worry about peeling. I have polished aluminum american racing wheels.

Polished wheels are a pain to keep up with. If you let them go too long without cleaning you really have to put some work into them to bring them back. Normal upkeep and they should do you fine. Chrome are easy to clean but too much bling for me. Like he said, if the chrome starts to give way there done. polished are usually a litte cheaper and there are many more choices.

I've always bought polished. I have found that the less fancy stuff on them the easier it is to polish. I had some Centerlines on the GMC and they had a bunch of nooks and crannys plus some rivets. I hated polishing them. I am running 058 Eagle Alloy's on my Ford and the are a piece of cake to polish. Once every few months and they look good as new!

The polished aluminums don't rust, I just got a set of used ones for my F-250. I prefer the look of chrome, but the aluminum is easier to maintain. Don't get any chemical cleaners, brake, carb, etc. on them though, it will eat right through the wax. my friend used carb cleaner to clean the back of his aluminum wheels, and some ran through to the front and scarred the wheel enough that you could feel with your fingernail.
