Exhaust Brake...

I have been "told" that it is advisable to install an exhaust brake on my 2001 F350 diesel for towing a large 5th wheel RV.....especially for the mountain roads. I have also been told that all I need is a "kit" as there is already a butterfly valve built in on the exhaust system.

Not being any kind of a mechanic(see my sign-in name), I need advice and help from the membership on this website. ANY and ALL advice will be very much appreciated!!!

You were told right. Many places sell kits to wire it up. You can do it your self if ya want but I think most kits can be bought for around 100-150 bucks.

Exhaust Brakes

Thanks to all of you who have replied!! Exhaust brakes.....and using the already installed valve in the 2001.....is completely new to me. I am constantly trying to learn more about these kinds of things........a mechanic, I'm not! So, any and all advice and help is welcome!
