'88 E350 w/351 EFI. How hard is it to change the back main seal on this joker. Do you have to pull the motor, or can you do it with it settin' in there. It only leaks a quart every 500 or so. We've got that burn and leak more than that, so if it's too hard, it'll just stay. Just kinda don't like havin' to worry about someone calling the fire department when we pull up to stop (it leaks right down on that exhaust pipe).

What's Mine:
'69 F100 w/302 (out of a '74 or '75 car)
What I've gotta watch after:
'79 Chevy Monza w/3.2L V6 (only like it cause it's a car, not truck)
'87 Isuzu P'up (not a REAL truck)
'87 Mercury Cougar w/3.8L V6
'87 E350 w/460 (out of an '85 ambulance)

Ok, now for the bad news, you have a real b--ch for the rear main seal. The seal is a one piece seal and requires the removal of the transmission to change the seal.
Well, it may just leak until the engine needs a rebuild anyway. I don't believe I'm gonna worry about it much more. Thanks.
