Help w/ axle ID
Hi, my friend has a 1977 F150, it has a 400 w/C6. Anyway, he wants to put in a limited slip in the rear and wants to know how many spline and what gear ratio he has. The door axle code is 13J. He thinks it's 3.50 gears. Thanks, please reply soon, cause the limited slip he wants ends soon on ebay. thanks

There should be a metal tag on the diff. Look where the diff is bolted into the housing. The tag will tell you the ratio and I am sure you have a 9" but that is also on the tag. Spline wise I am not sure. My 76 f150 4x4 is 31 but 2wd may be 28?

the metal tag is missing but we found some numbers stamped into the housing itself. In a circle we found 31975 and upside down we found 6K22. I'm guessing the 31975 is the manufacture date of the housing, but I'm hoping it means 31 splines. thanks
