Its been 4 months since I got my 05 CC 350 PSD. I have only 2300 miles on it so far. I was planning on changing the oil at 3000 miles. At the current rate it might be another month or two to get there. Should I do it now or is it OK to wait until 3000 miles?
Thanks
You could wait...or you could just have the dealership do the first free oil change a little early and get a Fumoto Valve. I had the same amount of miles on my new truck...and was in the process of being re-stationed...so I just had them do it because I knew I would be putting more than 3000 on it before I had the chance to do a change on my own.
Thanks for the replies. I think I might change it early just because 6 months seems a bit long for the first oil change and our winter here was as cold as a frog in a frozen pool! Just got a coupon for $20.00 off toward the oil change.

I got 2 free oil changes with my truck and I haven't used 'em - you can have one!! Not to be stupid - but I'd rather do it myself than have them working on my rig!! Heard too many horror stories. Go 'head and change it when ya want - no harm done in doing it a little early - better that than late!!
I don't have a free first oil change. Bummer!! Is there a special coupon? Service advisor right away said i would have to have the transmission worked on to repair the C clip. Then she looked it up on the Oasis report and mine did not show as needing repair. She said that all other 05s around my build date have had the recall so she is confused. Maybe it is just slow to show up? I will start towing a 10,000 # trailer in 6 weeks so I hope the transmission is OK!
The sooner you get that oil changed the better, get that assembly lube and metal out of that engine and filter. Oh and get out and drive that truck, lol
I am ready to get rolling. Can hardly wait for spring to get the boat out and get my travel trailer to the river. Will put a lot of miles on this summer.

Just call them or go there and ask for it. You just dropped $40K with them on a truck right? I bet they overlooked it and will have no problem giving you one.
I was actually told my the service manager after I finished all my paper work and everything that I would need to go ahead and estimate a oil change time. I had the dealer who sold me the truck standing there with me and he actually asked before I had the chance whether or not the first change was free because that was standard for most other cars on their lot. The response from the manager was no and that it was going to take about 2hrs to change and cost about $90 for them to do it. I might have to give them a call and see if they have changed their minds about that yet.
If it take's them 2 hrs to change the oil, you best stay away from them. Someone needs to let those guys know there is an easer way to remove the oil than repeatedly wiping the oil off the dip stick until there is none left

Exactly. Changing the oil & filter on a 6.0 is a one beer job-
IMO if I had to do anything over on my PSD, I would have changed the oil at 1,000 miles & again at 3,000 miles (both w/dino) & then changed over at 5,000 miles to synthetic Mobil1. And don't forget the fumoto valve.
Just my opinion...
