I had the same problem in a beater '78 F250 that I bought for the Dana60 frontend, before I sold it I tried to get the hitch out of it...chained it to a large tree and ran out about 6' of slack. No luck, even with that kind of shock load it wouldn't budge, just kept breaking the chain.

Is the back side (the side facing the front of the truck) of the receiver open or closed off? I mean, can you see the 2" hitch inside the receiver if you crawl under and look in?

If so, you might consider taking the bumper off, getting another piece of 2x2 stock and try pounding the hitch out from the back. Also, try pounding left, right, up and down on the hitch while there's tension on it.

If that doesn't work, get a bigger hammer.

Good luck.

bring it down here and we will get it off.... i have torches and trees and my truck with a winch . if you are having such a hard time just cut the frame off above it.... that way it'll be shorter!

seriously though, are you sure its not welded on and the rust is covering the weld bead? i have seen this happen several times before.... a lot of ppl don't cover the weld to protect it and it just rusts really bad!

Look on the back of the receiver tube to see if it was welded in to prevent it from being stolen.

Leverage is less dangerous! My hitch was completly rusted into my reciever, wd40ed it then took the biggest peice of pipe i could find and just pride it out...took me a few hours but i got-r-done.

Heat that sucker up to, get an impact gun electric/air dosnt matter if it moves a little then you know its loose.
