Dr. Ford, If i were u I wouldnt get a king quad 300, they have the low range gear, hi range gear but the 300cc motor isnt enuff to pull the high gear anywhere, and the low gear is too slooow, i was driving one of my freinds we were heading up a mild hill in hi range 2nd gear about 12 mph but the engine just kept boggin down. I downshifted, but ran out of power again! we had to come to a stop (on the hill) lock it into low and then take off again, its a hassle. I would recomend just goin for the Suzuki 500 Quadmaster. still all the fancy (and nice) features, just with more engine.

My buddy has one and I will agree with you on the high gear being a little too high, but I am able to hit about 50 MPH in low gear. what about one with a bigger engine? The reason I like it is because of the super-low and diff. lock. I take that 4-wheeler through mud at the cattle feeders that my truck would get stuck in.
is there any other brand that has the high-low, 4X4, and DIFFERENTIAL LOCK?
I got me a new 2001 Yamaha Kodiak 4x4, which has a 400cc engine. I have no problems with it, and is powerful. I was pulling a 12 foot utility trailer with a box deer blind, up and down hills with no problems. But of course if you want more power get you a new Grizzly with a 660cc engine. But the Kodiak is enough. It keeps up with all 500cc and 600cc engine models, and gone through the same rugged terrain as them, including mud pits, with no probems. So before you buy shop around.
