Mark the IP and the gear housing with a scribed line and put it back so they line up. If you do NOT remove the timing gear housing, the gear cannot jump out of timing.
Do you have all the info re removing the pump and lines. What year truck, put that info in your signature.
I have all the disconnected i am not replacing pump i just need to remove it to replace intake gasket can i just take out the three bolts on pump to take off and then just put it back the same way without worry of timing . thank this sight is very help full.
You need to remove the oil filler neck and then you can access the bolts holding the pump to the timing gear. DO NOT remove the timing gear cover. You can leave the injector lines attached to the pump. just disconnect them from the injectors.
It helps to remove the cold start solinoid and bracket. It'll give you more room to wiggle it out.
