PSD in a Boat?

Greetings,
I was wondering if anyone dropped a PSD in a boat? I know the 6BT dodge is a popular motor for repowers from gas to diesel.

Just thinking out loud,

There has been more than a few with the 7.3 PSD's in them. I have been in one that had three PSD's mounted in a 40 foot Fountain. These motors had been worked over with all manner of things to make a lot of power. With the lake water to use in the intercooler as well as the cooling system of the PSD's. So engine heat was not an issue.

Was quite the rig with the PSD's and the power they had programmed from them with how they had things setup. Now I would not be able to afford the fuel for a rig like that, let alone the price tag of the boat LOL, but now a boat with say one stroker in her might be fun to play with if there was a fishing deck on it LOL... From what I saw with the PSD's in marine application they are limited on power alright, but its way more than we ever see from them in our trucks.

The Fountain that had three of the PSD's had almost 1200 HP per motor which is more than double the HP of some of the best mods done in trucks I have seen running the streets and roads. With no heat build up in the exhaust systems, being able to maintain temps in the block at whatever temp you see fit even with the largest injectors the PSD's can make the HP. Only problem I have heard of for marine application was the lack of RPM to use and the weight of the motor for most boat applications.

I was thinking more of a offshore fishing boat, not a howdy boat. Maybe like a 31 Bertram. RussP
