slight stutter??

Hi all, I have a '97 150 4.6L with 120,000 miles on it. automatic with OD. Question is, sometimes when it shifts from 1-2 it seems to stuuter a little. If I lift off the throttle and hit it quick it seems ok. Plugs, wires, and fuel filter changed less than 10,000 miles ago. I have no Cel light on. Could this be the tps or iac? Anyone know where I should start to look? Any help or ideas greatly appreciated. Thanks blk97

Dosen't look like anyone wants to touch this one. Well if nothing else, this reply will get you back to the top of the threads.

Have you thought about adding a bottle of tranny conditioner? My 97 has 129k on it, and had a slight "stutter" in OD sometimes. I put some stp tranny conditioner/slealer in it a while back and problem went away.

Good luck

When you say stutter.....do your RPMs change any or is it just a stutter "feeling"?

No change in rpm,s, just a slight stutter feeling. Mostly notice it if I,m hard on the throttle. When I,m easy on the throttle it seems to be normal. I'll have to try the tranny conditioner. How much do you add? Do I need to drain some of the tranny fluid?

The reason I asked about the "stutter', is because there is a TSB from Ford that has to do with a "stutter". It is stated, "Slight shudder during accelleration and/or while shifting, or while slowing and downshifting. (Auto tranny)". The fix is reported to be....Take your slipjoint apart on the drive shaft, clean and lube with SILCONE grease. I did mine and all my shudders have gone away.
