Time for the experts input....

http://www.fordtrucks.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=348104

Weve been chatting up this great brainstorm Ive had in the NW forum. please read if you have a moment and chime in with your thoughts, either in that thread or this one, whichever.

Me thinks this is gonna be a fun project, its still in the planning stages and is a year or better out.

for those of you who dont wanna click on a link and read.....

idea is this in a nutshell........turboed, built, propane injected IDI ford motor in an 82 Suburban 4x4 that has a 6.2 in it now........many more details in the linked thread.

anything to add to the conversation that were missing?

I'm not an expert but I like the idea. Suprised that it has not been done before. The 6.2/6.5 gm's left a little at the stump. Probably a lot of them in yards waiting to be recycled to China to come back to us as tools, etc.

Keep us posted on the project.

I hope that Suburban's a 3/4 ton Kevin.

A full dress 7.3 is going to be around 1000 pounds!

I guess I should look into how much the 6.2 weighs, I understood it to be over 800 pounds

The reason Im doing it is lack of support for the 6.2 as far as internet goes, this way Ill have your guys support for drivetrain problems, so youll definitely be posted, like I said its over a year out, just planning at this point. Im gonna get the 6.2 back on the road for now, the mustang is the next project once my 73 is done
