1995 Third Brake Light
I need to replace one of the back-up light bulbs in the 3rd brake light housing on the back of my 1995. But with the 2 screws removed, it doesn't budge. When applying force, I'm afraid of cracking the plastic. Is there a trick, or is it just stuck?

I had the same problem. The heat from the stoplight bulb melts the frame of the unit and it forms a plastic drip that prevents the unit from being removed. I removed the rear window top rubber from the fiber glass top and found a hole in the center. I then drilled the hole thru and was able to look into the crevasse and with a screw driver remove the plastic that melted. After that the removal was easy.
Do not try to force the thing out, you will break it and it costs $125 to replace.

Roger, streak. If you have a flat butter knife and take a sanding belt and dress each side (talking about one of those wide ones that are fairly thin and pliable) you can carefully work it in and pop it off. If it cracks, like streak says, tons out there on wrecks.
