I was looking at adding the factory reverse sensor on my 03 - F250 and inquired at my dealer's service department about the wiring harnesses on thes trucks. They told me that if it did not come with the reverse sensors, there would not be a plug to add one like I wanted to do. They said this was the case with many options.
Frankly, I had a difficult time believing this but thus far, I have not seen anything on this forum that would dispute their comment. Still I find it difficlut to believe that every wiring harness is a custom job but the dealer tried to tell me it was. I offered them the install and they did not want to do it so I do not think thy were trying to sacre me out of doing the job myslef. If the marker lights are like the reverse sensors, you may not have a ready made plug in your wiring harmness and will there for have to tap into the parking light feed. Hopefully some else has already done this and can provide a definitive answer for you.
The factory plug for 2003 Ford clearance lights is behind the passenger side kick panel down by your ankles. Run the wiring harness from the lights then down the passenger side door post to the plug. Odd place but thats where it is. I was just about ready to splice into the parking light wire. Thanks for the help anyway.
Glad you found it. I told you I didn't believe the dealer. Please let me know if you happen to find the plugs for the reverse sensors next time you are digging around.
