How do I tell ?

Okay this may sound like a silly question but I when I bought my truck the guy at the dealer told me that it has a chip in it. He was very honest and told me that he doesen't know jack about diesels, but he knows it has a chip. I have driven several 7.3L trucks and my has alot more power that others that I have driven. Question is where is the thing, and how can I tell what one it is?

If it helps at all with the crusie set @70 i'm doing 2000 RPM's don't know if that helps at all.

Any idea's ?...Thanks

sometimes the power change is done internally in the ECM ... located behind the drivers kick panel, behind the parking brake pedal assembly. Other times there is a chip installed into the slot on the ECM. Try to determine the previous owner and give him a call. The engine speed and the vehicle speed dont have anything to do with the installation of the chip or ECM upgrade. the change in the power will factor into how fast you get to those speeds.
