It depends on what you are planning to do with the truck. If you plan on increasing tire size and doing any offroading then I would suggest a dual setup. Some people here think a dual setup is overkill but I disagree. I have 305/70's and do some occassional offroading and opted to go with a dual setup and I love it. I went with the Rancho kit, easy to install and it looks good. If you are going to stick with stock size tires and keep it on the pavement, a single setup would do just fine. I don't think any one brand is better than another though. Staying with the single shock will utilize the factory brackets.
If you have a good front end you can run up to 36 inch tires with out a stabilizer off roading or not but no bigger I always removed mine usually by a rock bending mine and just remove the rest
After smashing mine on a rock, I ran with it off for about 4 months on & off-road. . .didin't notice any difference at all in the steering or handling of the truck (shock had probably already been worn to heck before the encounter with the rock).
Got tired of seeing an empty bracket under the front axle and bought a single Fabtech steering stabilizer. Didn't notice a huge difference afterwards either, steering was a touch stiffer though. No new brackets were needed for the Fabtech stabilizer. .the bushings were a PITA to get into the shock eyes though.
