Air Conditioner Problem
This thread is a problem my neighbor is having with his '99 Ranger. He says when he is driving down the road his air conditioner will turn on by itself. He says he hears a click and then I guess the fan comes on blowing cold air. He was told it was a bad switch, which he replaced to no avail. If it makes any difference, I think he has a 3.0 liter engine. Any advice will be welcomed.

I have a little additional information after talking to my neighbor. He said the fan doesn't come on, but only the compressor. He can hear it kick in. The switch he replaced is the cabin switch that controls the AC, Max AC, and the various vent postions.
