The air conditioner on my 2000 explorer isn't blowing cold air! Back in July it wasn't working so I bought a service kit from walmart, followed the directions and it worked fine for a couple months.
Last week I tryed to use the air conditioner and it wasn't blowing cold air again! When I opened the hood I could hear the air conditioner generator (pump?) in the front ingaging and disingaging.
I hooked the service kit to it again but it won't work blow cold air at all now!
When the service kit is hooked up and the engine is running, as the pump ingages and disingages the pressure gauge on the service kit jumps up and down.
Any suggestions?
Doug, see my new 12/4/03 post. My 99 Explorer was doing the same thing and I paid $80 for my local Ford dealer to tell me I needed a $800 replacement of evaporator and accumulator.
