new engine time
Well I just got back my old 400 from the machine shop and they hit a water jacket when they bored it to .060 over. So I decided to go with a new 460 from paw. Has anyone bought one from them? Does anyone have any opinions on paw? Lastly who has some information on how to build a 500+ hp and torque engine.

i have bought a little from them and so has my buddy. i had a cam break after 8000 miles but it could have been dropped in the mail or rough handled. my buddy has had a cam in his truck and its been fine for 2 years now. they are ok but just be careful what you buy and dont rely on their tech line.

I think with some ported DOVE heads, 10 to1 CR pistons, 850 DP carb, cam in the 240 @ .050", stealth dual plane intake, and some 2" headers would be an easy way to reach 500 HP without costing too much money or driveability

If you get a PAW engine, be sure to go through it with a torque wrench. I've seen two with loose fasteners - one with loose main cap bolts and another with a loose head bolt (in both cases they were just finger tight). One all the fasteners were retorqued, they seemed to be fine for a cheapo replacement engine and both are still in service with no problems.
