I have added some newer pics of the progress, it is slowly going together.
And was able to take it for a short ride. without the minor things like doors, windows, exhaust. but it was fun!
NOTE the dates on the new pics are wrong. I did not know how to set the
date on the camera.
Nice work. It is coming along very well. I know the feeling of that first ride. Who needs windows?
BTW, don't you think it is ironic that a guy with the smarts and hair to whack up, modify, customize and rebuild an antique truck can't set the date on his camera? Sad, really.
The first ride is magical, I drove across the street to pick up my neighbor(who was out in his garage) and asked him if he wanted to go for a beer, he climbed in (fully expecting me just to back up into my garage) Well the first words he said when we took off down the street was " My daughter is a lawyer" As if that would help when they could throw all the books at me..Oh it was great!!
As far as setting the camera, I am from the time when one of them new-fangled VCR's still had a **** that you tuned to play, and a camera still had film, that you took to the store to get developed. JUST KIDDING, I am in my 40's and still havent addapted to setting the most simple electronic devices, ie VCR, clock radio, ect.
I appresiate the positive encouragement..
That's OK. I had a VCR (the one with the ****!) for 2 years before I got it to stop flashing 12:00. Then it was another few months before I figured out it was a 24 hour clock. Loved that red LED, tho. When it flashed, it looked really cool next to the black light and lava lamp. Wish I still had the hair.
Bet that beer tasted really good.

congrats on the voyage, I really the exaust tips. I am thinking about something similar on the panel behind the rear fenders. any comments or opinions on that? anyone ever seen it done?
There's a pretty nice chevy panel on the cover of this month's Custom Classic Trucks that cut the exhaust out thru the side wall just in front of the rear fender wells. Looks pretty cool. His cutouts are just a hole about 1/4" on a side bigger than the exhaust tube. The brake line lip idea would add a lot. Should be relatively simple to do.
The complication to my setup was putting a clamp under the running board. I did that so that the pipe would not rattle against the opening. If you come out thru the side, it should be simpler to clamp the pipe.
thanks for the post RJ, I just saw that cover shot in the grocery store this morning, I hate it when someone else uses "my" idea first. I will probably take a serious look at it this week, I hope to be installing the new steel floors in the bed and it would be much easier to layout the exausts before the floor goes in. Supernats in '06, I'm still on target!!!
