I am considering purchasing a CB for my SD EXT cab. I would like to house it in a modern overhead console. One that would match my XLT trim in my truck.
I just finished searching the web, but I havent been able to find anything like this. Is there such a thing? I can find wooden consoles, but that will not match the interior of the truck.
I went with a "Shelf It" ....only bad thing is that the sun visors hang down way too low. I have a CB and scanner as well as a flip down 7" monitor for DVD's, also hooked into a camera when I have the camper and boat on. I took the visors off and found a plexiglass smoke colored visor that flips down, and you can see thru it.
I also put a Pace Edwards Shelf-It in and could easily mount a CB to it. I am "vertically challenged" (5'8") so the lower visor position doesn't bother me. Easy to install too!

I considered those. I am 6'4 so, that might be a problem.
Where did you find the smoked visors? Sounds like a neat idea. Half of time, the visor is in my way.
I put a Cobra hand held CB in my new drivers side glove box on my 05 SD. Mounted the antena to the fender and the CB power supply under the dash. Works great and is out of the way and out of eye sight. Still have room in the drivers side glove box as well. Let me know if you need pics on how this was done.
Hey thenetguy, Could you put some pics up of how and where you put the CB in at. I am thinking about putting one in but haven't really decided on where I was going to put it yet. I actually thought about putting it in the overhead console on my Lariet
Hey ninerref, I posted pics in my gallery at the bottom for you to check out. Hope this helps. I really like it where it is. Let me know if you have any other questions!
