I know one guy that owns his own truck (one of my Dad's friends) but I never really talk to him and he lives 1/2 hour from me. There is another guy that drives a class B truck but he dosen't own it and he works days...

I tell you what I'll help you with the classroom part. If you can get a truck.
Closed! I was in the last night classes they had. They heard one more day class after I got my CDL, and closed the door after that. They have been closed now for about 14 years.
Not that anyone is interested but I have an update.
Once I go and wait in the hour long line at the DMV to get the CDL book I will be going for my class B(quite a bit cheaper for broke me to afford). Everything is just about set up. I need to get the book read up than go take a test prep class with money in hand. Will be learning through Roadmaster Driving School in Lawrence MA(Formarly at NECCO) with 1 on 1 teaching. Once I start hopefully I will be done in a month(or less).

I got my cdl last year, I am fortunate to work for a town and used there truck. the cdl book is online and you can print it out. Its a bunch of pages but I found it worked out well cause I could put it in a 3 ring binder for easier reading and studying. I will try and find the link and send it to you. I will look and see what I have for stuff left and maybe I can help you out. The written test wasnt to bad, the worst part was the Air brake test, one wrong step out of the 12 or so and you fail it. I found the best way to memorize it was keep writing the steps over and over and over. and then find someone that will let you sit in their truck and practice it talking outloud what you are doing. you will need to tell the tester what you are doing and what pressures you are looking for. I will get back with what I have over the weekend. take care, John
