Better Airflow
i was considering 3 upgrades: headers, new throttle body, and intake manifold. will any of these decrease my gas mileage, or will they increase it because of better aiflow? what about power and torque? which one should i buy first and is one of them not worth the $? thanks.

If you plan on taking it to DAYTONA these modifications might prove helpful! However the engineers that have built our little Ford have done a wonderful job with it. NONE of these modifications either by themselves or in combination will help your milage for any normal driving situations.. YOU HAVE PLENTY of air flow for what you do with that truck! You could improve the airflow if you NEED it... as if you were taking it to 5,000 rpm and keeping it there all day long.
In some instances SOME of these modifications can COST milage when the driving style is not changed..
You want a hotrod? BUY a Mustang! You want milage? Buy a YUGO! If we leave our little guys alone they will give good service for a loooong time.

Ps... Now we will get the 35 mpg and 200hp stories. All to be taken with a grain of salt.
I think there are a lot of folks who feel (like me) that the 3.0L vulcan is amenable to at least some performance gains, but your point about improved gas mileage is a good one. People can't really expect to achieve both (high performance AND fuel economy) with this engine.
