Total YBlock newbie here so please bear with me. I have obtained a 1955 TBird that has a 368 Lincoln motor in it. I have read all the entries in the forum for info on the motor but still need help. Where can I obtain specs and rebuild info as well as listings of any performance parts available for my engine?
The 368 was a strong motor, unfortunately not much aftermarket was developed. 3 and 4 carb 2bbl intakes, 2 4bbls are the most common and show on Epay once in awhile.
Most anyone can grind a cam and internals parts are still available. Lincoln MK11 valve covers look great.
BTW, Im looking for a good 368 to put in a F350 wrecker clone of what I used to work with in 56-8.
Hi 286merc,
I have a running 317 Truck engine that has the ram’s horn exhaust manifolds, truck flywheel, and bell housing, water pump, fan & shroud, pulleys. Etc. If you are looking for some parts for that 56 F350 wrecker clone.

There was very little available for the 341/368 LINCOLN Y-BLOCK as they were used exclusively in LINCOLN passenger cars until 1957 when MERCURY took the 368 and powered it up to 290HP (4V) for the 1957 MERCURY TURNPIKE CRUISER. There was also an 8V option offered (M-335) (developed by Bill Stroppe) that was rated at 335HP.
For tech information, a 1957 MERCURY SHOP MANUAL would most likely be your best source.
The bell housing pattern is unique also, as the LINC Y came through with the HYDROMATIC 4/S. MERC offered a stick shift version in 1957 but very few were produced so a bell housing may be difficult to find.
Supposedly, a later 302/332HD truck engine 4V intake will fit the earlier passenger car engine (trying to verify now) as it offers a higher carb pad and the increased size carb mounting flange for 4150/4160.
It is an extremely stout engine and worth building.
