I recently purchased and installed a Shelf-it Deluxe in my F250 SD.
I am very disappointed with it. The instructions and sales pitch say it takes minutes to install. I've spent over 4 hours on it and it's not finished. It came with confusing instructions and misleading information.
For example: the sunvisors are supported by extra clips at the free end. The instructions say "these(the support clips) may be removed and attached to the shelf." It doesn't take into account that the clip has protruding plastic pieces that I had to trim and drill 2 extra holes for each clip to get it to fit. It doesn't take into account that now there are two self tapping screws sticking up into the storage area just waiting to tear at your fingers as you reach for something! It doesn't address the 2 1" by 1 1/2" inch holes in the headliner where the clips had been mounted.
I paid a fair amount of money for the unit and I get to look at 4 standard cheap Phillips head screws holding the shelf to the bracket. There's no attempt to disguise them.
The shelf does what it is supposed to. It does increase the storage in the cab which is what I wanted.
I would not recommend this unit to anyone.

 

Mine was a PITA too. But I wasnt going to drill up my dash for the CB and scanner. They could have put some more thought into the design of it.

 

As a followup.
I called the tech support line to ask about the electrical wiring. Specifically there are 2 wires,1 black and 1 brown. I wanted to know which was positive. The "Technician" said it didn't matter. Yah right. Try and hook up a cell phone, CB or Ham radio with the polarity reversed and see what happens!
