Plugging the smog ports

I have a 94 with a MAF302. Right now I've got a new bottom end with a machinist working on some Windosor heads for me. He suggested I plug the smog pump holes leading into the exhaust ports since I said I wasn't concerned about pollution.

My question what if any effect this will have on my o2 sensors or my computers ability to figure out what's going on.

Thanks.

I've had the heads on my truck plugged for a while now and have had no issues whatsoever, mine is a 1995 5.0 EFI with mass air so the engines are probably the same. Since he is still working on your heads you might consider having the thermactor bumps ground off to help performance a little bit.

Yes, getting all the bumps and divots smoothed out. There's also a whole lot of metal that can be removed around the valve guide inside the ports as well.

He went on and on for 30 minutes with the metal to be removed from the heads. There's even some that can be taken away from a small ramp where the plug pokes into the combustion chamber. I need to do this to make the chambers as big as possible since I'm stuck with 91-92 octane around here.

It's amazing what you cn do to these mass produced pieces with a little knowledge and sometime (or money)
