What Guages?

Quick question – I need to know what gauges I need, to make sure everything is running well. If I get the three pillar cowl mount ( I'm running a Predator tune now ) what 3 gauges do I get?<O</O

Thanks!<O</O

you will need a boost and a EGT pyrometer guage, if you have a 04 thats all you'll NEED since you have a trans. temp guage already. Its best to mount the egt thermocouple in the drivers side manifold. this is a great instruction page

desielmanor has a good instruction page

Get all three gauges. The stock Trans temp gauge is worthless. I am sure others will chip in on this also.

Hey Smokin 6.0 looks like the instruction page link didn't make it to the board. I am getting close to adding a pyrometer. I would like to see a good set of instructions. Any chance of anyone out there with some good suggestions?

Should you use these guages on a stock 6.0? How much $$$ for the set up?

the upper left guage in your cluster is the trans temp guage. which is basically a glorified idiot guage.
You also might want a volt guage.

When at the shop last night I asked about just adding a pyro gague and they tried telling me it would run $500. "For only $250 more you can buy this edge with attitude chip and it has the pyro gague plus does ...."

I think they were trying to take me for a ride, I can not imagine a guage runs $500??

Thumbs up

Autometer sells a complete set (trans, pyro egt, boost) part number 7075. They sell on ebay for around 250-300 complete. The part number states it is for 1999-2003 model Super Duties, but I have been told by several dealers that they work in the 04 and 05 models.

Google the following "autometer a-pillar 7075" without the quotes

With the Edge, the Pyrometer probe (Thermocouple) still needs to be installed, bringing the cost up conciderably. I've been quoted $900+ for triple guages, do it yourself.
