I want to shave off my drip rails and smooth it all off, somebody told me that you cant do that because there a key componet in the structural integrity of the cab. Does this sound right? or is ok to shave them? I just want a second opinion.
Structural integrity? If you smash anything it will crunch. I don't think shaving your drip rails will change anything. I has been done many times. If you are that concerned about it, build up the metal from the inside. It looks way cool but don't grind too far or it's new cab time.
It makes for a WET head when exiting the truck during a rain storm.
Guess where all that water goes when it runs down your window (because it isn't being taken away) ?
A: Down into the door where it will rust that out
Also, this question has been asked quite a few times, Did you try searching for previous posted threads?

I dont see how drip rails will stop water from getting down in the window. (Im talking about the metal lip running along the top of the door) Your glass is going to get drinched when it rains with or with out those drip rails. Ayway, that doesn't really matter to me because I live in Las Vegas. I was just courious if there were any "signifigant" structural issues I should be worried about.
I'm not trying to be argumentative, I just want to understand.
