Help! Code P1000 After Tune
I Just Installed The Tune From The Pred Into My 01' F150 5.4l. All Is Fine Except A Trouble Code P1000 (obdii System Test Incomplete) I Called Diablo And They Said That It Should Clear Itself After Driving. Well I'ts Been 40 Miles And It's Still There. What Is This And How Can I Clear It.
Be patient. Its a normal code that is set as a result of a computer reset. Disconnecting the battery will give the same code. Don't clear it, give it a few key cycles and a couple hundred miles. It will go away when the computer completes all its tests.
I Found Out Later On That The Computer Needs To Test Itself Through A Series Of Things. I Had Initially Tried To Clear It, But It Wont Let You. All Is Well And Overall Drivability Is Much Better Than Stock. I Never Drive Quick And Rarely Even Push The Pedal To The Floor. Part Throttle Driving Has Been Positively Effected For The Better. Thanks For Your Reply, I Saw Where The Pred Has A List Of Normal Codes, Just The P1000 Was Not On It's List.
most trucks never get rid of that code even with over 200000 miles. you need to go though a drive cyle....... start engine with ambient temp lower than 40 degrees with a/c on, drive 0-60 with more than .5 throttle, keep at 60 for 5 miles, deacell to 35mph with no brake applied, 35 to 60 full throtle. it all in my scanner. basicaly its ok evey thing will be allright. p1000 is nothing to be worried about..
Like Ken said, it will clear on its own, just give it some time. Every time you disconnect the battery, or hit the clear codes on your scan tool, you will get this p1000 code till the computer re-runs its self test. If you have to get an emission state inspection done dont disconect the battery, or clear the codes just before you go in. They will reject the truck.

Information below gained through painful experience.
The P1000 code will NOT go away if you are running the Predator pulley tune.
I drove mine for 5,000 miles, including exhaustively duplicating the EVAP drive cycle a dozen times. And the P1000 never cleared. Keep in mind that in many areas, such as central Tennessee, you cannot pass emissions if you are throwing a P1000. That means no license plate renewal... a BIG deal!!!
Finally I reinstalled the stock tune and the P1000 was gone in less than 100 miles. Remember... it hadn't cleared in FIVE THOUSAND miles with the Predator Pulley Tune.
We know that the pulley tune incorrectly reports the throttle position sensor WOT, PT and closed throttle status. You can observe this with the Predator. I theorize that this prevents the EVAP test from even starting, much less completing.
Good luck.

OK I'll read first next time!!! Can you tell I was scarred by the experience?

I'll bet your TPC reads correctly on the Predator?
My 2000 F250 with a 5.4 had the predator program in it and I drove from AZ to Dallas and back and STILL has the P1000!!! I took the tune out of the truck and I am trying to get it to throw a code so I can diagnose a misfire of some sorts.
I was wondering what that code was for.... well now that I know, one question: Will the PCM process other codes while it waits for the P1000 to clear itself? (not that I expect to see any trouble codes, nor that I want to for that matter) And if so, will any codes show along side the P1000? Flyboy states that after driving several hundred miles that the code never went away...

Yes, the PCM processes other codes. Its constantly checking conditions. Some set immediately and some take time. You can get other codes while this one is set. I'm not sure what condition is causing the P1000 to stay on for him, its extremely unusual.
