Fuel line

I am presently replacing a 302 which has a 1/4 inch fuel line.
The replacement engine is a 460 which I will run a 3/8 fuel line.
My question is :
On the rear main tank, can I connect 3/8 to the main unit or do I have to replace the fuel sending unit to a 3/8 connection.
The conversion is going into a 1980 standard cab custom 1/2 ton.

Thanks

Check the parts store or the Ford dealer on part numbers for the 302 unit and the 460 unit. You will have to go up a couple of years for the 460 since I don't think it was offered in 1980. If the part numbers are different, I would change it. Try to follow what the factory did for less trouble down the road.
