Since buying my truck i've been looking for some heavy duty bumpers for the front and the rear of my truck. I had NO luck until yesterday, i found a local shop that makes bumpers, they look extremely solid and i'll be going to see them tomorrow and having a first hand look at them. They have one option for front and two for the rear. Pictures of all these are in my gallery. Opinions an thoughts on all would be greatly appreciated. I'm leaning towards the multi carrier rear bumper because of all the options i can add. Also the post runner looks like it's get tweaked before one of the multi carriers would. Also, how do you think a tire carrier would look on the back of an 89 F150 Reg cab, Long bed?
Thanks
keith

kjg26,
The bumpers look great. I think anyplace other than the stock mounting for the spare tire that does not involve crawling under the truck to dismount is great. With the weight of the tires I'm running, I wouldn't want to mount them on a swing away carrier. I reinforced the inside of the bed and made an attachment bolt out of a carriage bolt to mount the tire inside the bed. As an anti-theft device, I cross drilled the threaded end of the carriage with a hole big enough to take a small padlock. You know the proclivity for theft in our area. All anyone can see is the haed of the carriage bolt at the wheel and they have no clue what's under the rim of the bed. It would take two wrenches and a pair of vise grips to dismount once lock is removed and it's not that hard to do. Post pictures of your truck once you take the plunge.
I like the frount bumper. If they look quality when you go to check them out please post the site up here. I have been looking for one like that as well, warns have been the cheapest I found but I also have been told they are junk.
It's all personal preference. That front bumper looks nice. Strength is my preference, any bumper that has a massive look should be useful also. Check them out in person to be assured that it's not all show and no go. I had to use the engine hoist to install mine (definately not all show).
so i talked to the guy this afternoon, i got a bit of information that had me Jumping! They instal it for free!! Also if anyone in north Ga has a 2004 F150 they are looking to design a similar bumper for it. They want a test mule. They will design and fab one up for you and you get to keep it! FREE!!
i'll be checking them out tomorrow and will post back with my opinion. Also... i saw one of the Warn Classic bumpers, it looks pretty stout, HOWEVER the "wings" i guess you could call them, are "flappy" you could shake it pretty good with just your hand.
I hope that makes a little sense.
Sounds very promising, and I know exactly what you are talking about with the Warn set-ups. In the past I have had a Warn winch and bumper combo. I liked the winch, not the bumper.
As far as a tailgate tire carrier, the Bronco had this and might be a cheap way of adding this to your F-series. I have one in the garage for this exact purpose, mounts and all, including a cut section of the rear quarter panel where this attaches to, just in case.
i don't have the means, skills, or the location to weld it all up. I really like these bumpers. they are the first bumpers i've seen that i wouldn't mind spening the money on.
I like 'me too Keith. What other 4WD products are they producing. Is the shop in Alphaetta? PM me when you get a chance, I sell to builders in the Windwards and am over there occasionally.
