bed rust/repair

Removed a bed liner and found rust along the back seam of bed pan. Looking for best way to repair short of buying new bed.

How extensive is the rust? If you have pinholes, then you will have to remove the rusted sections to stop it entirely. If it's just flakey, and still has good solid steel underneath, remove the scale and treat with Ospho or similar and repaint. Otherwise, your looking at some patch panel work.
