towing question

I have a small 4X7 utility trailer that I haul my 4 wheeler on. I think that the whole package together with the quad on it may weigh around 1100 lbs. So for all of you in the know.........

Is it safe to tow this with the Overdrive "On"? The tongue weight is about 120 lbs.

I have a 2001 F250 5.4

Won't be a problem at all with that small a load.

I had a 97 F-150 with the 5.4 engine and automatic transmission, I pulled a trailer that weighed 3100 pounds with the overdrive on for about 70,000 miles with no trouble. I pulled up many big hills and mountains daily. I bought the truck with about 80,000 miles on it, and many of those were towing, but I don't know if he turned overdrive off or not. There were about 150,000 miles on it when I traded it in, and it ran as good as the day it was drove off the lot. I don't think you would have any trouble either. You might try posting this question on the towing forum also.

I tow a 9700# trailer and use OD all the time if the ground is fairly level. I get into problems with hills with full load, but with what you are towing you will never have a problem with it dropping out on hills unless you are trying to pull a very bad slope at high speed.
