Brake Cleaner

Will it eat gaskets?
It works good on valve covers and oil pans with caked on crap but will it eat the gaskets?

It will temporarily swell some gasket materials but it flashes off so fast it does not do much. There are much better solvents and cleaners to use on parts. Check some of the old threads in the Garage forum. Don't forget the archives.

brake cleaner is a bad degreaser they sell way more effective cleaners like the castrol degreaser
