You would have to put a smaller 9" rearend in it and convert over to smaller F150 spindles and everything else for the front end. It is not recommended and would be much weaker than what you have.

5 lug is a half ton bolt pattern, also found on Jeeps. Stick with the 8 lug, much more stronger. And the 5 bolt pattern isnt any more common than the 8 lug, as all 3/4 and 1ton trucks are 8 lug, they even interchange with Dodge and GM trucks.
